Our Goal: Zero Incidents
Safety is the foundation to the operational excellence we want to achieve in the workplace. Clista Electric has a goal to achieve zero incidents each year. Above all, the safety of our employees is most important to us. With this in mind, we developed a safety program consisting of on-going inspections, training, weekly talk points, and employee safety awards.
When working in occupied buildings, we take special precautions to clear access pathways and/or work after hours to limit interruptions for business and guests. For us, health and safety is not an ‘add-on’, it is an inherent part of everything we do.
Ongoing Training
- Various training is provided to employees including aerial lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, confine space, and fall protection.
- Weekly toolbox talks allow for open dialogue with the Safety Director. The discussion can be regarding new safety topics or any questions/concerns employees want to discuss.
- Employees carry OSHA 30 certifications.
Safety Empowerment
- With 14 years’ experience in Safety Management, our director drives home the belief that Safety starts prior to the project ever beginning. Job Site safety plans are created supporting the General Contractor’s and Owner’s requirements as well as OSHA and local regulations.
- Clista employees are empowered to stop/address unsafe acts.
- Due to the dedication and commitment of the employees at Clista, the incident rate was 0 for 2019. The current Experience Modifiation Rate (EMR) is at .717 which is well below the industry average of 1.0.
- Bi-Annual Safety Achievement awards are provided to employees after demonstrating excellent safety practices. The awards promote our philosophy and goal to achieve zero incidents each year.
